HCL Technologies and SAP collaborate to accelerate Industry 4.0 led smart IoT offerings

HCL Technologies (HCL) has entered into a collaboration with SAP on industry pertinent IoT packaged offerings and services.

HCL Technologies will package relevant SAP software with services and hardware that can speed up and simplify the fragmented and complicated solution stack that businesses face when driving Industry 4.0 transformations.

HCL Technologies’ dedicated business unit for IoT, IoT WoRKS is bringing the next-generation intelligent warehouse offering to market. This packages IoT-led warehouse processes leveraging the SAP Internet of

Things (SAP IoT) capabilities of intelligent sensing and IoT edge. With the option to include relevant hardware such as RFID devices or gateway servers, the offerings make it easy to overcome any adoption barriers. 
  
HCL Tech’s service offerings leveraging SAP IoT include:

• IoT-led warehouse processes – Drive efficiencies through the goods movement process leveraging SAP IoT’s smart sensing capability. SAP IoT automates the identification of handling units through radio frequency identification (RFID), validating the data, and posting business context information to SAP S/4HANA or other SAP applications for warehousing processes. HCL can help clients achieve further efficiency and optimization in their digital supply chain journey by leveraging SAP IoT.
  
  
• Remote monitoring of edge hardware – Leveraging HCL’s IoT & monitoring expertise, HCL helps clients monitor the health of edge hardware devices and the container orchestration layer for SAP applications. The offer is scalable and provides a single UI to manage clusters and configurable alerts. This enables businesses to run their applications and services on the edge to meet requirements around low latency, bandwidth, connection reliability, and regulatory guidelines. With real-time monitoring of edge devices, this offer thereby helps with lower downtime, enabling higher productivity for our clients.
