BEC (Systems Integration) Ltd, the UK-based supplier of automated data capture and voice solutions for the supply chain, logistics and manufacturing industries, has recently been working with Horseware Ireland to assist with the data capture and automation element of their M3 ERP upgrade.

Founded in 1985, Horseware Ireland is one of the world’s most well-known designers and manufacturers of riding wear, leisure wear, horse rugs, equestrian products and accessories. With a turnover of approximately €40 million, Horseware is a true global enterprise which employs over 600 people worldwide.

The company recently upgraded its ERP software from Movex 11.4 to M3 13.4.

As the incumbent data capture software and solution provider to Horseware Ireland for a number of years, BEC worked with the company to enhance its already-implemented eSmart Voice WMS software solution within Horseware Ireland and its North American facilities in order to complement the latest ERP upgrade.

Designed to improve the company’s picking, put-away, stock movement, dispatch and replenishment operations, the newly-deployed edition of the eSmart Voice WMS solution has helped Horseware Ireland to achieve a number of new and heightened benefits as a result of the re-implementation.

Philip Jarrett, Director of Sales & Marketing at BEC comments, “As a direct result of the ERP upgrade to M3 13.4, we worked closely with Horseware Ireland to bring various elements of the solution up to date. And because BEC were the original providers of the Voice WMS solution when it was first implemented within their business, we were asked to remodel and refine the solution that was already in place.”

Alan O’Neill, IT Manager at Horseware Ireland concludes, “The benefits of this enhanced solution have been far-reaching. As with the legacy Movex system, the new solution continues to fully integrate into our new M3 ERP platform, however we now have an even more fluid interface between the BEC solution and the new M3 ERP system. The implementation of the revised solution and the point of handover went extremely smoothly thanks to all of the background work carried out by BEC, enabling all orders to be picked, packed, shipped and invoiced with no interruption. We are extremely pleased to have worked so closely with BEC in helping us to achieve this and look forward to continuing our close working relationship in the future.”
