Commercial drone solutions provider COPTRZ, has selected the AiRScouter line of head mounted display (HMD) devices by Brother UK to feature alongside its range of aerial photography products and UAV services for business.
COPTRZ has agreed a deal with the business technology solutions firm to become the exclusive reseller of the WD -350B, WD-360B and WD-370B products. The devices allow pilots to watch a drone's live video feed hands-free, without breaking line of sight during flight, which means increased safety.
The HMDs feature a HD 1080p display that can be worn over either eye, supported by a flexi arm and a headband. They offer plug and play functionality and can be worn with accessories including helmets or glasses.
The devices are suitable for use by drone operators in a variety of applications including emergency services, broadcast, aerial photography, agriculture and inspection.
Brother UK and COPTRZ recently showcased the AiRScouter at the Emergency Services Show (19-20 September) at the NEC in Birmingham. The show is the UK's only multi-agency trade event for all emergency services.
Steve Coulson, Founder and Managing Director of COPTRZ, said: "We're very excited to announce this partnership with Brother UK as we continue to enable some of the UK's largest businesses to benefit from drone technology.
"The AiRScouter is a unique piece of kit that will increase the efficiency of drone operations by enabling the user to view the live feed from the drone whilst also maintaining visual line of sight. There's nothing quite like it in the unmanned aerial vehicle space at the moment and we expect it to have a huge impact on commercial drone operations across all sectors, particularly for businesses operating at extended visual line of sight."
Andy Johnson, head of product and solutions management at Brother UK, said: "The AiRScouter has received a lot of interest from commercial drone professionals since launching in the UK earlier this year. COPTRZ is the ideal partner to help us serve this sector and deliver a device that can ultimately make flying drones safer and easier for pilots.
"Launching this new device is an important step for us in branching out our business-grade technology solutions. With the help of COPTRZ, we're excited to see the existing and emerging drone applications that AiRScouter will benefit."
