The latest Robert Walters UK Jobs Index has revealed that job vacancies for procurement and supply chain professionals rose by 43% in the first quarter of 2017 compared to the same time last year.
Mid-level management roles in accounted for over a third of vacancies (36%) while junior buyer roles made up 25%.

"However, as we have moved into 2017 businesses have also looked to expand and grow, compounding demand for highly skilled supply chain and procurement professionals who can ensure that this expansion is fully supported to make sure that it is sustainable over the long term."
As Britain prepares to negotiate new trade agreements outside the European Union, employers are aware that new challenges, as well as new opportunities, will appear.
As a result, demand for mid-level procurement and supply chain specialists who can play a role in developing new strategies for taking advantage of these opportunities has risen.
