Manufacturers' organisation, EEF, has announced that it has secured two of the UK's most senior industrialists as speakers at its National Manufacturing Conference taking place in February next year.

Juergen Maier, Chief Executive of Siemens UK, and Colin Lawther, Senior Vice President at Nissan, will be joining Stephen Cooper, Head of Manufacturing for KPMG in the UK, on a panel that will debate 'Making Britain the best place to do manufacturing – a global perspective'.

The debate will be highly topical, coming just ahead of the Government's self-imposed deadline for triggering Article 50. The panellists will be able to provide their unique perspectives on how Britain can cement its position as a leading place in which to manufacture and do business.

The panel will be just one of the highlights of UK manufacturing's flagship annual event, which will see delegates join senior level politicians and manufacturing leaders from across the UK to discuss the critical challenges ahead for the sector and the wider UK economy.

As well as headline sponsor, Lombard, the event is being backed by KPMG, NatWest and HVM Catapult. Those who sign up for it now can enjoy an early bird booking discount of up to 50% on the price of tickets.

The world-class line up of speakers includes Jo Malone MBE, the renowned fragrance designer and entrepreneur, and political big hitters Greg Clark MP, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, and John McDonnell MP, Shadow Chancellor.
