Live information platform launched to improve transport management visibility

A product which provides carriers and their customers with live information and multi-carrier consignment tracking is being officially launched on the global market.

British company 3T Logistics have developed the INFORM application, part of their Solo transport management system. INFORM enables live tracking by part or order number. It provides live ETA updates as well as showing multiple load locations on a map. By ensuring that carriers and customers know exactly where a consignment is and when it will arrive, any potential problems or delays can be dealt with more quickly.

"Having access to real time information and being able to communicate this to all the relevant parties is key to improving the transport management process," comments 3T's MD Tim Fawkes. "Solo.INFORM has been developed specifically to give organisations all the information that they need through one screen, ensuring visibility across the supply chain."

Authorised users can set and manage filters to access the most relevant information. The system allows instant access to shipping documents and load information which includes product details, part number, container codes and quantity. It also includes live SMART KPIs which provide information to help companies make better planning decisions.

"Integrating processes, making information accessible at any point in the supply chain enables a more efficient use of resources," adds Tim. "It helps companies to reduce unnecessary administration, manage problems more efficiently, improve end customer service levels and reduce costs."

The initial version of the system has been used by car manufacturer Honda and is being implemented across 3T's customer base. Part of 3T's EVENT platform which contains a range of transport management modules and apps, INFORM can be used as part of an integrated transport management system or as a standalone solution to a specific issue.

3T Logistics develop transport management system solutions using cutting edge technology to help companies optimise and automate logistics processes, improve service levels and reduce transport spend.
