Maxatec launches new Arbor 5" rugged Android handheld panel PC

The Arbor IOT-500 from Maxatec is an HMI panel engineered to provide a high level of flexibility and reliability to support automation and system optimisation requirements.

Based on a Dual Core MTK MT2601 industrial chipset from MediaTek, and featuring support for the Android v5.1 operating system, Maxatec comments that the IOT-500 delivers a combination of robust processing power, an open operating system and a flexible hardware configuration.

The device features a 5" high-resolution display and a durable capacitive touch interface. The IP-65 ingress protection rate, a MIL-810 certification for shock and absorption, and a wide operating temperature range of -10 deg C – 50 deg C ensures the IOT-500 is perfectly suited for a variety of tasks in the most challenging environments.

The IOT-500 connectivity features include a LAN port, 2 x USB2.0 ports, 1 RS232 COM port, 1 GSM/GPRS SIM slot, 2-megapixel camera and a speaker with built-in MIC. The IOT-500 also supports DC power input ranging from 12v-24v and provides 4 GPIO ports as well as a CAN BUS for motor vehicle interface.
