Voiteq, global provider of Voice-Directed Work solutions, has been appointed by Wilko to upgrade its existing Voice solution using Voiteq's VoiceMan Warehouse Execution System and business intelligence suite VoiceMan InfoCentre.

The company was previously using Voice on multi-modal handhelds and wanted to move to a more ergonomic device, built specifically for Voice. The new solution is compatible with Wilkos current needs and will adapt to future changes to its infrastructure, while also lowering overheads.

Already a Voice user, Wilko understood the many benefits the technology offered but they now wanted to extend the capabilities of Voice within their Service Centres and drive additional business process improvements. In an overhaul of its IT infrastructure, Wilko went to tender on its Voice project and out of a list of seven Voice providers Voiteq was selected as their preferred supplier.

Wilko will be using the latest Talkman A710 belt-worn computers and wireless SRX2 headsets from Honeywell Vocollect Solutions across its two Service Centres - Service Centre 1 based in Worksop, Nottinghamshire and Service Centre 2 based in Magor, Wales. With a combined space of three million square foot, Voiteq is rolling out over 500 Talkman terminals and over 1000 headsets across both sites, with Wilkos Service Centre 1 site in Worksop already completing stage one of its implementation.

Voiteq's VoiceMan Warehouse Execution System controls the complex picking processes - including tote and cage picking, and provides the flexibility to grow and adapt with Wilko's systems, processes and omni-channel strategy.

Furthermore, the company will use Voiteq's dashboard and reporting module - VoiceMan InfoCente Dashboards – to gain even better real-time visibility and historic reporting of their operations. InfoCentre will also provide Wilko with predictive analytics - the ability to estimate future outcomes based on current performance and to then take corrective actions before issues arise.

"Voiteq represent the true meaning of a value-added reseller. In addition to offering a robust execution and reporting solution that will easily adapt to any future changes we make, they also demonstrated a great deal of industry knowledge, best-practice and recommendations" added Stuart Lundy, project manager at Wilko. "We've worked alongside Voiteq to build the perfect solution for our business; one that will take our use of Voice to the next level. The next stage for us is to look at Voiteq's Intelligent Volumetric Cubing solution to better meet our pallet load service level agreements, something that wasn't possible on our existing Voice platform."
