Epicor Software Corporation, the business software solutions provider for manufacturing, distribution, retail and services organisations, has announced that Stakehill has chosen the next-generation enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, Epicor ERP, to automate its processes and increase productivity.
For 40 years, Stakehill has been the UK's leading manufacturer of innovative steel pallets, stillages and racks, providing the automotive, construction and white goods industries with the specialist equipment they need for their production lines. Stakehill's in-house design and development departments engineer cost effective and bespoke solutions from concept to prototyping and final design.
Darren Walker, director at Stakehill said, "Because of the nature of our business we have complex systems – for example, when we are producing the racks used to manufacture a car model, the specifications will be very different to those for a commercial vehicle. Likewise the specialist steel pallets necessary for some construction equipment are very different to those needed by the white goods industry. Each project involves meticulous planning, from the design stages through to production. We knew that if we could automate systems and improve the flow of information between the different processes, we would quickly improve our production levels."
To optimise its productivity, Stakehill required an ERP solution which could integrate and automate its processes via a simple-to-use interface. After searching the market and testing six different ERP solutions, Stakehill selected Epicor ERP for its intuitive interface and ability to integrate processes.
Darren continued, "Although we looked at different options, Epicor was our favourite from the start. The Epicor team understood our needs and the software itself is designed with the manufacturing industry in mind. This means it's entirely suited to our business and will help us to continue to innovate."
The implementation of Epicor ERP at Stakehill will take place over two phases. During the first phase, old systems will be replaced with the Epicor ERP financial, purchasing and industrial modules. Following this, these processes will be automated, allowing the Stakehill team to concentrate on what they do best - innovation and design.
Steve Winder, regional vice president for Epicor Software in the UK and Ireland said, "With Epicor ERP, we can help Stakehill access the financial, purchasing and industrial data it needs in real-time, through a simple-to-use interface. This way, Epicor ERP will not only automate Stakehill's specialist production systems, it will also provide insight to help the business become more efficient. We look forward to watching Stakehill continue to grow as a result."
Epicor ERP gives companies a technology platform that can inspire them as they conduct business today and in the future – on any device, anytime, anywhere in the world. It is an enterprise solution that supports growth and expansion into new markets, encouraging companies to connect with their customers, partners, employees and products in new and innovative ways.
