The Handheld Group, manufacturer of rugged mobile computers, has strengthened its product management department with two new appointments: Johan Hed is the company's new Director Product Management and joins Handheld's management team, while Johan Sätterman is appointed Handheld's new Product Manager.

The new appointments are part of Handheld's increased focus on product development and product management.

Johan Hed, Handheld's former product manager, is now Director Product Management and member of Handheld's management group, a step in Handheld's increased focus on product development and product management. As Director Product Management, he will be responsible for overseeing the company's product strategy, product vision, and process of product developments. Johan will work closely with the management team and product managers to maintain and develop the product portfolio and life cycle.

Johan Hed has been with Handheld since January 2011 and is also a graduate of Handheld's successful management trainee program. He has managed business development focused in the US as well as the APAC region. Johan has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Lamar University, Texas, USA, and a Master of Science in International Business and Trade from the University of Gothenburg (Sweden).

Johan Sätterman, now new Product manager, joined the Handheld International Management Trainee Program in January 2014. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Linnaeus University in southern Sweden and a Master in International Business from Grenoble Business School. Johan Sätterman's academic merits also include business studies at Korea University in Seoul and as well as a degree project in Dar el salaam, Tanzania. He has previously worked as Purchasing Manager/Sales Manager at machinery manufacturer Swepac International.

Johan Sätterman's responsibilities include product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements and defining the product vision. The role also includes ensuring that the Handheld's product line-up supports the company's overall strategy and goals.

"These two new appointments are proof of our commitment and increased focus on product development," said Jerker Hellström, CEO Handheld Group. "Our rapid growth and increasing demands from customers means that we must offer the market ever-improved mobile computers, which in turn requires a total commitment to product design, development, support and management. The strengthening of our product management department shall be seen in this light, as fully instrumental to the company's success."

Handheld's line-up of rugged PDAs and mobile computers is specifically developed for use in tough environments in industries such as geomatics, logistics, forestry, public transportation, construction, mining, field service, utilities, maintenance, public safety, military, and security.
