The UK and Ireland logistics show, Multimodal, has opened online registration and announced its Seminar speaker line-up.
Visitors can sign up for the free-to-attend exhibition, at the Birmingham NEC, from 28th to 30th April, using a new registration system, which harnesses the power of social media to facilitate networking opportunities.
"The new system allows visitors, exhibitors, and speakers to instantly see and message any member of the Multimodal community they are connected to on LinkedIn, or following on Twitter," said Robert Jervis, Multimodal Director.
"Multimodal is a one-stop-shop for anyone interested in tightening their supply chain and staying ahead of the curve, and this new networking opportunity will help ensure that everyone makes the most of their visit."
The Supply Chain Best Practice Seminar programme, which this year includes speakers from Blue Chip companies such as Waitrose, Sainsbury's, Lafarge, and Barclays, is now also available online at the show's new interactive website at www.multimodal.org.uk
The Chartered Institute of Transport and Logistics (CILT) and the Freight Transport Association (FTA) have teamed up with Multimodal to deliver a series of workshops and panels showcasing examples of best practice and debating opportunities and new trends in the industry.
Seminar topics include the challenges of omnichannel for retail, moving freight by water, and the future of rail freight, as well as financing the supply chain, and a look at how to measure carbon footprint.
In addition, online news portal The Loadstar will be hosting an airfreight pavilion and will chair a series of air cargo debates.
"After last year's successful launch event, we are pleased to be hosting the Multimodal Awards at our VIP dinner once again this year," said Emma Murray, Multimodal Seminar Director.
"The Awards will be an opportunity for the industry to recognise and reward best in class, and the evening, hosted by Simon Weston, promises to be a networking opportunity to remember."
More than 280 exhibitors from across the transport market are expected to welcome over 7200 supply chain decision makers, including retailers, manufacturers, and shippers to this year's Multimodal event.
Now in its eighth year, Multimodal is already 80 per cent sold out, with returning exhibitors including Canute Group, DSV Global Transport and Logistics, Superior Express, Wincanton, and GEFCO UK. New companies exhibiting include DHL, IAG Cargo, Uniserve, VIIA and sbh.
Prologis, DP World London Gateway, Dachser, and Malcolm Logistics are sponsoring the event.
