Datamax-O'Neil, manufacturer of stationary, vehicle mount, portable label and receipt printers, has announced an integration of its various products with ECi Software Solutions' FMAudit Managed Print Service (MPS) software solutions.

ECi's FMAudit MPS software can collect data for PCL supported printers like the recently launched H-8308p and the Performance Series from Datamax-O'Neil. It consists of a set of tools that allows enterprises to centrally manage and monitor all printer activities within one network.

"Working together with renowned companies like ECi helps us in driving forward innovation," says Christian Bischoff, Regional General Manager EMEA at Datamax-O'Neil. "With the launch of the new Datamax-O'Neil H-8308p thermal printer, we introduced the ability to capture valuable data from devices via the FMAudit Managed Print Service software. This makes us one of the first companies in our segment that uses this system for its printers. The FMAudit software enables users to further increase productivity while maintaining total cost control."

The FMAudit software provides a user interface and reporting tools that simplify administration, maintenance and supply fulfilment. For example, when toner cartridges are low, the software automatically sends an email to the user with a link to the corresponding toner shop. Consequently, document output devices and related business processes can be optimised, and costs and waste are kept low. A significant number of large- and medium-sized companies worldwide have migrated to the FMAudit software to manage their device fleets. Regardless of the size of an organisation, there is a large demand for all companies to adopt this model of management to control cost and increase productivity.

FMAudit's patented system empowers Datamax-O'Neil partners to offer a different financing model to their end users. Thanks to the MPS capability of the printers, and integration with FMAudit, end users can profit from a Hardware as a Service (HaaS) offer, meaning they will be able to finance the use of the printer and relevant consumables on a per-label basis. Such a solution will give them the possibility to move from a capital equipment expense towards an operating expense usage, allowing a full cost control and control of their label-printing function and an easier management of their assets.

As a new player in MPS solutions, Datamax-O'Neil participated in ECi Software Solutions' European Customer Day on December 3, 2014 at the Radisson Blu Hotel at London Stansted Airport. At this event, more than 100 visitors were presented with the opportunity to learn more about how MPS works with Datamax-O'Neil printing solutions and the benefits it brings for printer management in transport and logistics applications. "We found the partner event to be extremely valuable for demonstrating this creative solution," says Michele Cucinotta, Business Manager for Workstation and Performance Series at Datamax-O'Neil and responsible for the H-8308p thermal printer. "It was a good opportunity to talk about the integration of MPS in the enterprise sector and the advantages it brings to users."
