AAF International, manufacturer and marketer of commercial air filtration products, has successfully deployed Carval Computing's complete HR Unity portfolio of integrated Payroll, HR, Self-Service and Time and Attendance software solutions.  AAF is using the software to streamline its HR administration and payroll software processes and support the company's People Centred Management (PCM) methodology.  Just four months after installing the new system, AAF has noticed a series of significant benefits including valuable time savings.

For the last 10 years, the company had outsourced its payroll processes to a bureau, while its personnel administration system was heavily paper-based and time-consuming.  After reviewing several vendors and conducting a series of customer reference visits, AAF decided to invest in Carval to modernise the organisation's people processes.

Tracey Johnston, Payroll & Benefits Officer at AAF International commented, "First impressions count and, from the beginning, it was clear that Carval offered the type of ongoing rapport and excellent after sales support we needed. They make customers feel special, involving them in future product development and automatically upgrading them to the latest versions of their software. As an added bonus, and one that sets Carval apart from the competition, their technology supports all our Payroll, T&A and Payroll software processes in a single, totally integrated system at no extra cost."

Despite a major data migration project that involved transferring 20 years of paper records onto the Carval system, the smooth implementation process meant that AAF was up and running very quickly.  The company first introduced Uniwage (Payroll software) at the beginning of the new tax year followed swiftly by Unistaff (HR software), Unitend (T&A software) and Unity Online (Self-Service) in June 2013.   AAF's intensive and timely training programme that encompassed all 320 employees  encouraged widespread adoption of the new technology.

In just four months AAF has realised significant time savings.  The automation provided by Carval has saved one whole working day every month managing holidays and reduced the time taken to conduct payroll activities by an impressive 25%.

Furthermore, the introduction of Carval has impacted positively on employee morale.  Staff are actively embracing Carval Unitend because clocking in and out provides transparency making their hard work clearly visible and subsequently recognised. Additionally, clocking provides the means for Managers and Supervisors to have full visibility of their team's time and attendance records should they need to address any issues.

To support the company's PCM approach, AAF has deployed Carval's Self-Service software to create an online portal called urHR which staff can access easily, at any time and from anywhere to check their personal and emergency contact details, view their own clockings, book their annual leave view and print their payslips and even check when their colleagues are on holiday – all in real-time.

John Ovington, Sales and Support Director at Carval Computing said; "Commercial organisations such as AAF are continually striving to find new ways to drive efficiencies, maximise resources and reduce costs.  They rely on our integrated technology to effectively manage all HR/employee related processes and information from a single platform and deliver quick wins that prove the real value of technology to the organisation.  In a very short space of time, AAF has used HR Unity to support the very heart of its corporate HR framework and release valuable time savings back into the business."
