Harvey Nichols Luxury department store's new Licensee has selected Futura's EPOS and retail management solution as the backbone for a new 80,000 square foot store due to open in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, in summer 2014.
Housed within the country's premier shopping destination, Globus Plaza, the new department store, will house three floors of fashion, accessories and beauty, together with a Spa, restaurant and bar affording stunning views across the city. Baku is rapidly expanding to become a destination for luxury brands with new shopping malls attracting discerning consumers from across the Caucasus region.
The management team behind the new Harvey Nichols store spent 9 months evaluating suitable retail systems before choosing Futura. A reputation for reliability, strength in stock control and robustness were particularly important to the team, together with full multi-currency support and Futura's track record with fashion and department stores in the UK, Ireland and internationally.
Graham Symes, independent financial consultant for the Licensee commented: "We chose Futura because of its suitability for the multi-disciplinary rigours of a department store and its strengths in fashion. The reporting side is fantastic – in all my years in retail I haven't come across another system as good. For flash reporting it is unbeatable giving total visibility of sales, margins, sell throughs, stock turns and inventory on one screen/page."
The Futura EPOS and retail management solution will initially support 40 tills throughout the store with real-time management information to support core functions including buying, merchandise planning, inventory and stock control.
