Effective 1 January 2014, Govert Hamers has been appointed as President and CEO at Vanderlande Industries. He will succeed Peter Gerretse.

Govert Hamers transfers from the highly successful international shipbuilder IHC Merwede, where, since 2005, he has been the CEO responsible for a strong, profitable growth in turnover from 450 million euros to almost 1 billion euros. Before that, he fulfilled various senior management positions at companies such as Imtech, Fokker, ECT and ASML. Mr. Hamers has already been on the Supervisory Board at Vanderlande Industries, an innovative high tech company, for the last two years. The company's turnover has grown significantly in that period, and Vanderlande is well-positioned for the future.
