An increasing number of businesses are choosing to optimise their resource planning using Advanced Planning systems, with new projects being launched among many of Ortec's 1750 existing customers over the past 12 months. At the same time, Ortec welcomed more than 100 new customers from around the globe to its customer pool, including many retailers, producers of consumer goods and professional service organisations. This growth is supported by the opening of several new offices.

New offices

Following the recent opening of new offices in Italy and Brazil, and a second office in the United States, Ortec also recently opened the doors of its new international headquarters in Zoetermeer. As a consequence, the optimisation specialist now has representation in all parts of the world, either through its own offices or partner organizations, and has customers in more than 60 countries. In 2012 worldwide turnover at Ortec grew again, this time by more than 15% to 65 million Euro. Activities included the launch of major new projects and the continued roll-out of projects in Australia, France, Finland, the Netherlands, the United States and Russia.

New headquarters

According to Aart van Beuzekom, CEO of Ortec, more and more companies are discovering the potential of Resource Optimisation: "This should come as no surprise, since, as has been demonstrated time and again, our customers – whether logistics companies, service organisations or health care organisations – are able to realise profits on many fronts by implementing our solutions. We are delighted and very proud once again to have our products recognised by a number of awards, including the Computerworld Award and the GBC Business Health Award in the United States." Ortec is also expecting healthy growth for 2013 and subsequent years, which partly prompted Ortec's move to its new, more spacious headquarters in Zoetermeer, the Netherlands (located near The Hague) in May.

Optimise Your World

In 2013 Ortec is also aiming to draw attention to the potential of optimisation solutions through campaigns on the theme of "Optimise Your World". "By focusing on this area, we aim to invite even more companies to discover the wide potential offered by resource optimisation solutions. This theme also reflects our ambition to optimise "the world" of our customers throughout the world, particularly in relation to personnel deployment and transport resources. Through now established concepts, such as "The New World of Planning" and Ortec Planning Days, we are constantly looking to build on opportunities we identify together with our customers, as well as continuously working on innovations in conjunction with our customers", explained the CEO of Ortec.

Trends: CO2 emissions

Ortec customers were again able to make a significant contribution to reducing carbon emissions in 2012. Last year customers of Ortec saved 500 million kg of CO2. The current forecast for 2013 is that CO2 savings (by Ortec customers) will run to 650 million kg for the year.
