ByBox, the field solutions specialist, has been named as a winner for the third year running at the British Safety Council's 2013 International Safety Awards.

The Merit accolade was given to ByBox' central hub in Coventry in recognition of its proven commitment to workplace health and safety. To achieve a Merit ByBox had to complete a rigorous questionnaire covering a wide range of health, safety and welfare disciplines.

ByBox received a score of 54 out of a maximum 60 by demonstrating good practice with the use of real workplace examples that demonstrated the benefits of an effective health and safety management system for the business, staff and other stakeholders.

The International Safety Awards scheme, now in its fifty-fifth year, is open to organisations of all sizes across all industries and seeks to promote high standards of health and safety management practice in order to prevent workplace injury and ill health. ByBox was named a winner because it demonstrated to the judges its commitment and determination to prevent workplace injuries and work-related ill health.

Roger Ward, SHEQ Manager at ByBox, said, "We are proud to have achieved Merit status again this year, increasing our score in doing so. It is a tremendous achievement and is testimony to the on-going contribution that everyone makes to health, safety and welfare at ByBox across the distribution network as a whole. The health, safety and welfare of our employees is always at the forefront of our minds and good practice forms an integral part of the work ethic that we aim to instil in everyone at ByBox so it becomes second nature in our everyday work. Not ones to rest on our laurels, we are now looking forward and working hard towards achieving a Distinction in 2014."

Alex Botha, Chief Executive of the British Safety Council said, "On behalf of the Trustees and staff of the British Safety Council we warmly congratulate ByBox and its employees on gaining an International Safety Award. All of those working at ByBox have made this award possible which recognises their dedication and commitment in preventing injury and ill-health in the workplace.

"The success criteria for our International Safety Awards is challenging and that rightly reflects the importance of ensuring the risk of injury and ill health in the workplace is properly controlled. We are proud of our association with ByBox and their commitment to keeping their employees and workplaces healthy and safe. Our congratulations."
