Barloworld Supply Chain Software (SCS) has developed CAST Aurora 2.0 to incorporate procurement, production, logistics, inventory, tax and carbon into a single planning platform for manufacturers, retailers, and distributors.
This latest release incorporates robust new functionality to support integrated supply chain planning within an organisation. Driven by customer requirements, CAST Aurora 2.0 contains many powerful, new features, including SKU inventory policy, carbon emissions, and multi objective optimisation modules.
CAST Aurora 2.0 will enable companies to fully integrate all relevant supply chain cost drivers into the traditional production and logistics network optimisation process across both strategic and tactical planning horizons.
Customers can deploy CAST Aurora 2.0 to evaluate how traditional network changes such as number and location of warehouses not only influence cost, profit and service, but also the network-wide inventory requirements, tax liabilities and carbon footprint.
Furthermore, companies are able to optimise the network for multiple custom objectives such as lowest cost, with minimum or maximum capital investment, or carbon footprint targets. CAST Aurora 2.0 is also highly scalable, exploiting the latest technology platforms available internally or in the 'cloud'.
Since its introduction in 2011, Barloworld SCS has enjoyed extraordinary success with the original CAST Aurora solution. During that time this hugely popular supply chain planning software has helped organisations identify between 5-20 percent cost savings and service improvements. It is now widely recognised that companies integrating supply chain planning across both functional divisions and planning time horizons realise significant improvements in logistics, inventory, and service performance compared to companies planning their supply chain in traditional 'silos', or without integration.
