Fleetmatics Plc, the  global provider of fleet management systems for fleet owners, has launched SageQuest in the UK.  SageQuest, the Fleetmatics enterprise product, offers an enterprise solution that is suited for fleets with more than 100 vehicles and is currently being used by more than 1,000 enterprise accounts in the USA.

Taking control of SageQuest in the UK will be new Managing Director Peter Bingham who will be based in the company's offices in Reading, along with the UK sales, marketing and support functions. Peter has 15 years' experience in telematics, GPS vehicle tracking and fleet management solutions and said of the launch: "Now is the right time to emulate the success of SageQuest in the USA here. Market conditions and the dramatic changes in the way businesses in all areas now approach their logistics and fleet operations means that the demands for a system which is designed to enable faster, better informed business decision making and the reduction of expenses such as fuel has never been greater."

The SageQuest solution is applicable to larger fleets and can easily scale to accommodate thousands of vehicles. It can be integrated into the client's workforce management system to allow the correct matching of orders to vehicles on the map or it can be deployed as a standalone system. SageQuest provides business intelligence data which can, for example, greatly improve forecasting for businesses that want to increase efficiency and improve profit margins.

The system, delivered through a standard web browser, has many powerful functions but is simple and intuitive to use. Its mapping system is powered by Google, allowing use of its Streetview facility which allows more efficient dispatching and improved customer service. Other features include Control Centre which allows fleet operators to monitor a wide range of information such as idle time; mileage; vehicle activity, driver behaviour  and vehicle start time in order to improve productivity and performance.

Additional elements include a customisable alert function which immediately alerts the appropriate staff member when a certain threshold (road  speed, idling time, stopped time) has been reached and this can be delivered as text message or an email. This information can be accessed on the move via the SageQuest mobile apps.
