International Business Systems (IBS), a top global integrated ERP and supply chain provider, has named Doug Braun, a former RedPrairie executive with more than 30 years of supply chain experience, as chief executive officer. Christian Paulsson, who was serving as acting chief executive officer and chief operating officer, will continue as chief operating officer.

"Doug's vision for IBS combined with his list of accomplishments over 20 years at RedPrairie – from leading the first true-on demand SaaS supply chain offering to managing global expansion combined with his turnaround experience – make him the ideal candidate to move IBS forward," said Pallab Chatterjee, chairman of the board, IBS. "Our leadership team is now in place and now is the time for IBS to reclaim its heritage as the leading distribution management ERP and supply chain company with the deepest knowledge and the industry's most complete solution."

"I look forward to instilling a customer first mentality; articulating a clear technology vision to take the industry's best distribution software to the next level and making IBS a great place to work," said Doug Braun, chief executive officer, IBS.

Most recently Braun served as president of global operations for RedPrairie where his responsibilities included unifying and leading the global product management, product development, publication, translation and quality assurance efforts across a complex multi-channel software solutions suite. In addition, he was responsible for the direction of the global hosting and support organization, creating the SMB unit and served as one of four members of the RedPrairie operating committee.

Other roles included executive vice president of Americas, managing director of European operations, senior vice president of implementation services, vice president of support services, as well as several product management roles.

Prior to his tenure at RedPrairie, he worked in technical and project management roles at Northwestern National Insurance Company, Viking Insurance Company and Chem-Bio Corporation.  He serves as the board director for the Institute for Human Resources and the Divine Savior Holy Angels High School and previously served as an adjunct professor of mathematics for Mount Mary College.

Braun holds a Masters Degree in International Business and a B.B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin.
