Wigan based third-party logistics providers, Total Storage Ltd, has selected LocateIT WMS from Clydebuilt Business Solutions to manage its inventories. LocateIT WMS and its associated ScanIT Wireless processes will be installed in the company's main Distribution Centre to support and enable the current growth that the company is experiencing.
During peak time, TSL uses flexible overflow space from a third party and, states Clydebuilt, the introduction of LocateIT will deliver absolute visibility while the paperless processes in the warehouse will deliver workflow efficiencies, increase throughput and enable the company to leverage existing staff and space.
A key element of the implementation will be the seamless interfacing of LocateIT with TSL's key customers. The current system in use reportedly lacks the flexibility and versatility of LocateIT, so this working solution offers a win, win, win situation - delivering tangible benefits to both TSL and Customer.
As well as removing manual paperwork through the introduction of RF, LocateIT will also provide great warehouse management as standard, including track and trace features and the ability to monitor various stock fragments and associated details such as BBE date/LOT, Batch number, etc.
LocateIT fits in with Total Storage Ltd's ambitious plans for growth and the expandable modules. Andrew Penketh (Ops Director) says these are exciting times for the business and working with LocateIT and Clydebuilt provides a superb platform on which to realise the ambitions the board has for the business.
