NFT, the provider of Cold Chain Logistics in the UK, has recently implemented a transport management solution embracing tracking, telematics, route & schedule adherence combined with enhanced customer service, and real time delivery performance.

The tracking and telematics elements of the solution provide real time visibility of fleet performance against plan. The telematics system from Microlise ensures safe and economical driving as well as maximising the fuel efficiency of each vehicle whilst ensuring product is delivered in full and on time.

NFT customers also benefits from having real time visibility of inbound deliveries or departures relating to their consignments through web based arrival and departure boards. In addition customers can be provided with access to web based consignment tracking screens and also see projected deliver times for future dates.

By implementing this system NFT will be able to monitor and measure vehicle & driver performance, fleet utilisation and route & schedule adherence in order to help drive maximum operational efficiency & productivity.  The system will also support enhanced levels of customer service through automated pre-advice and arrival and departure boards.

"The solution provided by Microlise not only provides transport operations with complete visibility of fleet activity and performance but also provides our customer service teams with relevant information pertaining to situations that arise on a daily basis such as early arrivals, on time deliveries, or late deliveries which allows us to proactively manage customer expectations," said Steve Szikora, IT Director NFT.

The Microlise system will aid in the reduction of management overhead; through the use of Microlise's unique Customer Service Board modules, Driver Debrief and Data Warehouse. The latter allows NFT to easily generate standard and bespoke customer service and operational KPI reporting.

Chris Wallace, Sales Director, Microlise, said: "Microlise are really pleased to win this contract with NFT and are even more delighted with the way NFT have worked with Microlise to adopt the technology within their business and processes in order to deliver results so quickly. It was a significant coup to win this contract - both in the context of NFT as a new customer but also in having to show & prove our credentials to a number of other retailers & organisations that NFT service."

Other incentives planned for the system include the integration to dynamic planning and the use of the new Microlise Reporting Portal which will enable the business to meet its KPIs and deliver exemplary work to our customers such as ASDA, Marks and Spencer, Sainsbury's, amongst others.
