ForTrack Systems keeps Fortec Distribution Network customers happy

Licensees in the Fortec Distribution Network are reportedly enjoying greater customer satisfaction due to a bespoke, state-of-the-art IT system that has streamlined many aspects of their operations, including deliveries.

The transport management system called ForTrack manages the flow of goods through Fortec's network from order management through loading, route scheduling to central invoicing and claims handling.

One of the most flexible and user-friendly systems in the business, ForTrack offers full customer track and trace, automated Proof of Delivery, a full audit trail and up-to-the-minute Key Performance Indicators.

Since switching over to the tmWare system, developed by Tamworth-based Traderman Systems Ltd, specialists in intelligent software for warehousing, logistics and distribution, the Fortec network has run more smoothly.

Not only can Fortec licensees give their customers up-to-date information about consignments, they can also deliver pallets earlier because ForTrack allows more efficient movement of trailers in and out of depots.

Moreover, Fortec and Traderman Systems are continuing to work together to enhance the offering and the next development due shortly is the introduction of scanning at depots that will give even greater visibility of the network.

Neil Hodgson, Managing Director of the Fortec Distribution Network, said: "We are delighted with the effectiveness of ForTrack. Since it was introduced over a year ago, our members have had nothing but praise for it.

"They particularly like the automated claims process and the fact that they do not need to purchase any new equipment in order to use ForTrack indeed they can access it from any computer connected to the internet.

"Moreover they can rest assured that they have security as all their information is backed up in real time so even if there is an emergency such as a power cut they will not lose any data.

"ForTrack is making their lives easier and enabling them to provide a first-class service to their own customers."

Glenn Mitchell, of Leicestershire-based Mitchells Storage and Distribution, a Fortec licensee, said: "Central billing through ForTrack is so easy that it now seems surprising how we ever managed to do it any other way before!

"Our customers found it very user-friendly and, from our point of view, being able to access the system from any computer connected to the internet, at any time, is imperative in this day and age.

"ForTrack gives us superior visibility of all our shipments, helps us to route vehicles effectively and is exceedingly easy to use. I would give it ten out of ten!"

ForTrack simplifies operations at Fortec's hubs by allotting bay numbers to incoming trailers in advance, which in turn prevents drivers from having to queue up to find out the information on arrival. The more efficient operation means goods arrive at the end customer earlier than before.

ForTrack also manages separate tariffs for goods going through the Northern Hub at Warrington that reflect the shorter travelling distances they undertake.

Traderman Systems Ltd was founded in 1984 by MD Shaun Coughlin and it offers comprehensive customer support from the development team, many of whom come from a logistics background.
