Swisslog and prismat enter into partnership for SAP Extended Warehouse Management

Swisslog and prismat, the German-based expert for SAP implementation, have decided to enter into a close partnership. Family-owned prismat will become the exclusive and global implementation partner for SAP-based warehouse management systems, thereby ideally rounding off Swisslog's service portfolio. The client's benefits are twofold: the quality of prismat's SAP implementations on the one hand and Swisslog's competence in the design and realisation of complex, automated logistics facilities on the other.

"We are observing a growing demand for the Extended Warehouse Management system. The cooperation with prismat allows us to offer our clients an additional, high-quality software solution alongside the proven Swisslog Warehouse Manager," Daniel Fink, President of Swisslog's Warehouse & Distribution Solutions division, explains the background of the partnership. Managing Director Fin Geldmacher describes the advantages for prismat as follows: "With Swisslog we have a renowned partner with acknowledged industry expertise and a worldwide distribution network. This will enable us to efficiently realize international projects and to fine-tune our EWM services with Swisslog's systems."

Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) is the warehouse management system developed by SAP that features extended functionality and supports the planned and efficient operation of all logistic processes within a warehouse. SAP positions EWM as a strategic product that can easily be integrated with existing SAP ERP solutions or operated independently. SAP will thereby deepen the integration of the value-added chain and enable continuous data management right through to the individual parts.

The cooperation between the two independent companies ranges from the realization of projects to the joint provision of customer support services including 24/7 support. Moreover, it is planned to jointly develop products and components that simplify and accelerate the integration of SAP in automated, dynamic warehouse systems. This way, Swisslog can meet the rising demand for automated warehouse and distribution systems that are fully integrated with SAP.
