Honeywell Scanning & Mobility and Aruba Networks to offer secure and seamless mobile computing network

Honeywell and Aruba Networks, Inc. are collaborating to offer complete wireless networking and mobile computing solutions and support services targeted at retail, healthcare, and logistics applications. As part of a global alliance, Honeywell Scanning & Mobility and Aruba will provide an end-to-end wireless solution for added data collection productivity.

"Our enterprise customers have made it clear that they want a secure, easy-to-deploy, end-to-end system solution that provides both wireless networking and data collection capabilities," said Darius Adamczyk, president, Honeywell Scanning & Mobility. "Honeywell and Aruba have a shared vision about the primacy of customer support, and the need for robust mobile data collection across the enterprise. The alliance speaks as much to our commitment to delivering the best end-user experience as it does about building the most capable data collection infrastructure."

Pairing Aruba's industry-leading wireless local area network (LAN) infrastructure with Honeywell's Dolphin 6000, 7000 and 9000 series of mobile computing devices for data collection, digital image capture, and intelligent signature capture is expected to boost data collection productivity and lower operating costs. This integrated wireless data capture solution is designed to be easy to deploy, highly secure, and features best-in-class reliability.

For example, in the healthcare point-of-care environment Aruba's wireless LANs and Honeywell's mobile computers work together to simplify patient identification and bedside medication administration. The solution ensures that patient information and electronic medical records (EMR) are protected and meet HIPAA compliance standards. In retail, the joint solution enables on-floor wireless price checking and seamless mobile checkout.

"Enterprises around the world are looking to workforce mobility to increase productivity, improve efficiency, and control operating costs," said Dominic Orr, Aruba's President and CEO. "Achieving these benefits requires robust mobile computing platforms, running on secure wireless infrastructure validated to operate interoperably all backed by world-class support. Aruba and Honeywell are offering just such a solution, and we believe it will define a new standard for secure data capture applications."

Honeywell and Aruba have begun showcasing their collaborative offerings at events globally, including Honeywell's EMEA Partner Event in Portugal, which took place in early October, and several road shows targeting resellers in Asia. Aruba's CEO will also be a key spokesperson at Honeywell's upcoming North America Partner Event in Las Vegas on October 26-28, 2010.
