H. Parkinson Haulage Limited is one of the UKs leading privately owned haulage and distribution companies. Founded in the early 1950s the company has thrived in family ownership by providing first class customer focussed personal service to its long standing clients.
The company operates a modern vehicle fleet in the UK, heavily investing in the latest MAN trucks with mega cube trailers operating at 44 tonnes. HPH operates over 160,000 square feet of modern warehousing across the North West UK, including bonded warehousing. HPH operates to ISO 9001 and in parallel with developing its haulage side HPH wanted to offer the same advanced market leading service within its warehousing division, the implementation of a modern multi client, multi location Warehouse Management System was an important progression.
Barbara Parkinson, Director of HPH commented we work for a wide range of companies, including many blue chip clients and we wanted to be able to provide them with total visibility and control of their stocks, whilst at the same time maximising our internal efficiencies. We chose ATMS because they impressed us with the power and flexibility of their system, whilst at the same time we could see how straightforward the system was to use. Like ourselves they are active members of UKWA, the UK Warehousing Association; this shows in their knowledge of the 3PL industry and their practical experienced hands-on approach.
The ATMS system will be used for a variety of clients and products, including paper, food and drink, giftware and engineering spares. The system will operate round the clock 24/7. HPH will also be looking to extend the system in the future to make use of the ATMS Webspeed web viewing facility which allows clients to view stock and place calls offs and expected receipts. This is used alongside DataHub, the user configurable interfacing module that allows the company to link to its clients systems using a variety of interfaces including Edifact, XML, SAP etc.
HPH has the option to make use of the automated client billing features within the StockTrackPLUS system. A further future attraction is the RemStock remote warehouse control module this allows STP to be used remotely on any site, anywhere without the need for local systems and networks everything is carried out over standard mobile data links.
