i2 Technologies, Inc. have announced that Eroski Group, Spains third-largest retailer with revenue of 9 billion, has selected the i2 Transportation solutions  as the foundation for network modeling, planning and execution of its inbound and outbound transportation operations.

Eroski Group has selected the i2 solutions to enable integrated planning, execution, and monitoring across the entire transportation lifecycle, allowing the company to minimize transportation costs, improve customer service levels and reduce environmental impact and carbon emissions.  In addition, the solutions can provide the basis for continuous improvement for all transportation processes, ensuring Eroski Group is able to identify and quickly react to changes in market conditions and real-world constraints.

We believe the roll-out of i2 Transportation solutions will ensure that we run our complex logistics operations more efficiently by lowering transportation costs and CO2 emissions significantly, while improving service levels, said Mikel Larrea, director transport Eroski Group. Before selecting i2, we reviewed other relevant solutions in the market and selected i2 for a pilot based on their profound expertise, richness of functionality, proven technology and the large number of successful customers. Based on a successful pilot we are rolling out the solutions across all of Eroski Group.

We are excited about working with the Eroski Group to significantly improve their transportation operations across their overall supply chain network, said Graham Newland, senior vice president, i2 EMEA.
