Zetes' 3i Voice Solution helps Visionlab boost its productivity by 30%

After successfully applying the 3i Voice solution to 500 projects throughout Europe, Zetes Spain has been entrusted with a pioneering project to equip a Visionlab SAP-managed automatic warehouse with its voice technology.

With over 150 points of sale in Spain, Portugal, the Czech Republic and Poland, Visionlab is one of the leading optical chains in Europe. Due to its fast growth, Visionlab had to think of a way of updating its supply systems to increase delivery speeds and offer an improved service.
To keep to its promise of your glasses in under an hour, a new logistical model was devised that had to take into account the following demands: speed, flexibility, reliability, traceability and productivity.
After carefully analysing the various available technologies, Visionlab opted for a combination of automatic carousels and the Zetes 3iVoice solution.

The Zetes 3iV solution allows the exchange of information between the ERP or SGA and the voice-based data capture system. The advantage is that the operator works hands-free and carries out his work without taking his eyes off the task in hand, thus increasing his productivity, reliability and ergonomic comfort. This solution was supported by Talkman T5 terminals from Vocollect.

With the help of an external consultant, Visionlab came up with a project to optimise the management of its logistical centre in Spain. After searching for the most suitable technology to automate its order receipts, order preparation, consolidation and inventory process, they concluded that the Zetes voice solution was the one that best met all the requirements of the project.

In order to minimise the need for bespoke development work and to keep within the Visionlab strategic framework, based on the use of the SAP ERP system, it was crucial to be able to integrate a certified solution such as 3iVoice.

The Zetes 3iV solution for SAP allows integration of the Voice-based mobile applications with the WM (Warehouse Management module) and EWM (Extended Warehouse Management module) modules of SAP LES (Logistics Execution System). Information is exchanged directly and in real time between the SAP system and the operators equipped with a voice recognition terminal, without the need for any additional server or middleware.

The main advantages of the Zetes 3i Voice technology, certified by SAP, are: its direct integration (all of the logic and data is provided by SAP), improved efficiency and speed in terms of data entry, the exchange of information in real time, the fact that it supports multiple architectures and load balancing in SAP.

Jos Carlos Ramos, Technical Director of Visionlab, claims that the combination of automatic carousels with voice proved to be the option that was best adapted to his needs. Since starting to work with the voice systems, we have recorded a 30% increase in our productivity. The reliability of our inventories has doubled and errors have been cut drastically.
