Global supply chain optimisation provider, Manhattan Associates, Inc. has announced that Noppies, a worldwide brand for maternity fashion and baby clothing, has chosen Manhattan Associates as its logistics technology partner to support the international growth of the company. Noppies will deploy Manhattan ILS: Integrated Logistics Solutions, built on Microsoft NET at its distribution centre (DC) in Lelystad in the Netherlands.
Noppies designs and manufactures fashion clothing for pregnant women and newborns. The label is distributed to over 2,000 outlets in 55 countries worldwide. The companys entire distribution operation is handled by the DC in Lelystad. In order to support the companys growth, Noppies recently expanded its Lelystad DC from 22,000 sq. ft. to 65,000 sq. ft. and determined it needed a proven and powerful supply chain optimisation platform that could effectively manage its warehouse processes and improve the flow of goods throughout its entire supply chain as well as complement its existing Microsoft Dynamics NAV enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform.
Previously, many of Noppies DC operational tasks were performed manually. However constantly rising product volumes meant that processes like order picking had become cumbersome and time consuming. Noppies concluded it needed an advanced system that would automate this and other supply chain processes.
