ExPD partners Psion Teklogix to offer high end solutions

Specialist supplier of bar code products and systems Expert Peripheral Designs Ltd (ExPD) will now be offering Psion Teklogix comprehensive range of mobile computing technology as part of its solutions, following the signing of a partnership agreement between the two companies.

For 14 years, ExPD has been supplying anything from a simple bar code reader to a complete data collection system, including custom software services, to a wide range of sectors. Selling mobile computing hardware accounts for around a quarter of ExPDs business, with the remainder derived from solution sales. A significant part of this business comes from ExPDs fixed asset tracking package called Asset-i. Designed for medium and large sized companies, Asset-i is a complete turnkey, out-of-the box, hardware/software tracking and management solution. The remainder of the solutions side of the business centres on supplying bespoke bar code solutions to customers in all industries. ExPD also enjoys an excellent reputation for its support.

Commenting on the agreement Robert Fenton, managing director of EXPD, said: It is a good fit for us. Although Psion Teklogix has now moved to channel sales, it has a strong end user ethic, as do we. They are a professional, competent outfit and their equipment has an excellent reputation in the market place.

Psion Teklogix devices offered by ExPD will include the latest products such as the WORKABOUT PRO, the Ikn and the NEO, which offer a wide range of technologies making them suitable for a multitude of applications for which ExPD provides solutions.

Robert Fenton adds: The market is awash with entry level devices but we have a lot of legacy customers looking for higher end mobile computers. So we were looking for a more substantial product and that opportunity came along with Psion Teklogix. They cover all the technology bases that we need plus the potential to get more involved with technologies such as Voice and UHF RFID.
