Following the outstanding success of their WMS Snapfulfil implementations within the retail and distribution sectors, and due to the wide range of operational and financial benefits delivered by the SaaS (Software as a Service) business model, Snapfulfil came to the attention of one of the Princes Trust charities and its supporting logistics partner.

In Kind Direct (IKD) supports over 3,000 charities across the UK and was naturally looking to minimise costs and save money on its charitable operations. This involves managing the inbound collection of donated goods and the receipt, sortation, storage, redistribution and transportation of products directly to the doors of those most in need. Following an analysis of its outsourced operation, IKD awarded its UK warehousing and distribution services contract to The Service Business.

The Service Business is one of the UK's leading providers of consulting services to the service supply chain sector, focussing exclusively on the service, or aftermarket, supply chain and following considerable research in to the WMS market, the Service Business has chosen Snapfulfil as their key WMS partner for this major venture.

Mark DarleyUsmar, head of the Snapfulfil team stated, The joint requirements of IKD and The Service Business contract produces a number of unique challenges, due to the varied nature of the donations received by the charity from their Blue Chip benefactors. Following an in-depth review by The Service Business, we were delighted when Snapfulfil was selected for this project, as it not only provided the sophisticated and flexible functionality required to handle these challenges, but also offered the cost effectiveness required to ensure that this very worthwhile charity could continue to divert maximum resources to its charitable work.

Another key benefit was the rapid deployment made possible by the Snapfulfil managed service approach.  Darley-Usmar continued, Understandably IKD and The Service Business were keen to commence operations as soon as possible and ensure that the immediate ROI and monthly savings could be realised ASAP. The Snapfulfil rapid implementation plan helped this goal to become a reality, delivering the fully RF Driven system within the agreed 6 week time frame, whilst still catering for all of the operational requirements laid out by IKD and The Service Business teams.

Finally, Darley-Usmar added Snapfulfil are proud to be working with such a worthwhile cause and look forward to helping The Service Business and In Kind Direct to meet their challenging targets in 2009.
