IMS 'enters new era' with Uniplan Version 8

Rotherham-based IT expert, IMS, is launching the latest version of its flagship software, Uniplan, heralding a new era in enterprise resource planning (ERP).

Uniplan Version 8 brings an unprecedented amount of flexibility to IMS' business planning software, by making its first move into interactivity.

Version 8 contains an even greater range of functions than previous versions of Uniplan, including a brand new messaging service that can be personalised, enabling any user to receive reminders, weekly, monthly or even hourly as an email, pop-up or part of the integrated Uniplan Contact Manager system.

Uniplan's new messaging service also lets users determine what they want to be told about, how they want to be informed, who else needs to know and what responses are available. For example, sales teams can be alerted when a request for a quote arrives, whilst production can tell if an operative does not clock on, so the spare machine can be allocated to someone else.

Improvements to the Uniplan operating system have enabled IMS to make huge changes to the way lists are presented and handled in Version 8. Users of the new upgrade will also benefit from even more functions when trading with customers via electronic data interchange (EDI), an element of the software that can be tailored specifically to each client's requirements.

Dave Hurst, IMS' sales director, said: "Version 8 has received very positive feedback from the existing Uniplan users who previewed the upgrade at our recent feature day. We are confident that this latest version of the software reflects the changing needs of our clients and offers potential new users a reliable and cost-effective aid to successful business management. This is without doubt Uniplan at its best."
