Nestl Purina PetCare Europe (NPPE) has selected Transporeon's e-logistics solutions for the management of its international transport.

Martin Robinson, Manager Transport & Logistics Services for Nestl Purina, declared: "We took the decision that an in-house team equipped with the right system could be most effective in managing our international transport operations.  We also recognised the opportunity to simplify communication processes. Today we have introduced Transporeon at our factory sites and we are tracking carrier and factory performance from the time an order for transport is placed through to the truck's arrival at the designated distribution centre."

TIFLOW and TISLOT

In the first phase, Nestl Purina introduced the TIFLOW and TISLOT modules. Calling on pre-established criteria, such as postal code, vehicle type, etc., TIFLOW automatically transmits the freight orders to the carriers. After receiving all the important data, the carrier has to confirm acceptance with a mouse click. TISLOT allows the carriers to book timeslots, thus reducing the throughput time at the loading or unloading bays. As a result, the logistics process becomes more efficient and the trucks spend less time waiting.

Mr Robinson continued: "Today, we use TIFLOW and TISLOT, but looking ahead our plan is to leverage the other e-logistics modules available from Transporeon to develop sustainable sourcing strategies to the mutual advantage of carriers, Nestl PURINA and the environment, with the aim of  reducing empty running."
