Specialist manufacturer of PC-based touchscreens, LCD touchscreen monitors and point-of-sale hardware to the retail, hospitality and leisure industries, J2 Retail Systems, has announced its expansion into the French EPoS market.

J2s co-founder and Managing Director, Moray Boyd (pictured), explains that this market represents excellent potential for J2 products. In recent months, Boyd has travelled extensively in France, meeting prospective distributors, resellers and complementary partners.

On each and every occasion, our French contacts have been impressed with our units, especially our new J2 580.  It would appear that our products offer both better functionality and more competitive pricing than is currently available in that market.

To cater for the geographical and commercial diversity of the French retail and hospitality markets, J2 Retail Systems is creating a matrix of partnerships.  This matrix consists of primary distributors who will sell direct and through their dealer networks, value-added resellers, and specialist software houses who are keen to offer clients a complete hardware and software solution.

Moray Boyd continues:  The French market is constructed differently to the UKs, so its been necessary to take that into account in the type of relationships we form.  Regional differences are also stronger, and weve made sure we are dealing with a number of different partners to give us complete geographical coverage.

The first partner, located north east of Paris, has already taken shipments of the J2 580 whilst agreements with additional partners in Montpellier, Toulouse, Lyon, Poitiers, Valence and Grenoble are being signed.  We feel extremely positive about our prospects in this market, concludes Boyd.

J2 Retail Systems is also looking to develop EPoS sales in the markets of Germany, Benelux and Scandinavia and has appointed a European Business Development Director to lead activity in Northern Europe.
