High Speed Sorting Solutions

As Erwan Bosser, Savoyes expert in high speed sorters commented, The first application chosen by Savoye was the order fulfillment domain primarily targeted on postal distribution, short distance distribution, express delivery and catalogue sales. So the first contract undertaken was with La Poste who are completely re-organising their logistics operations, initially automating 3 warehouses in Paris to provide a processing capacity of 28000 magazines per hour in a 24/7 operation supplying nearly 250 sorting offices.

Savoye also provide Dispatching sorting systems which, by picking from the stock with the same SKU and dispatching by high speed carousel in accordance with the customers orders, can provide very high order fulfillment rates capable of preparing and dispatching over 140000 parcels per day. The Dispatching sorting system is ideal for products requiring a fast turn around, such as fresh goods, and is also used by cross docking platforms in large distribution centres to keep stock levels low.

Order Fulfilment and Packing

Savoye supply total order fulfillment solutions of the pick & pack type used for operations such as office supplies.  As Erwan Bosser explained, in this process once the order has been received it is entered onto the warehouse management system prior to being launched via a carton of the size necessary for the order with a bar code label attached.  This carton is then routed via a bar code label on the conveyors to the appropriate pick locations where an operator picks the correct items into the carton. The whole process is managed by a real time control system such as LM7 developed by Savoyes IT Division.

This process may be completed with automated packing solutions such as Savoyes patented PAC 600 which incorporates box making, product security and sealing, or JIVARO, a box-closing  machine which automatically adjusts the height of the carton to the fill height of the order prior to sealing thus reducing the volume for transport thereby saving transportation costs.

Finally picking either complete pallets or indeed picking from pallets can be accommodated by Savoyes Magmatic automated pallet store.  This consists of automated shuttles moving in three dimensions which can access any pallet at any time enabling the most effective routing of pick and replenishment cycles and ensuring zero aisle down time.  With this Savoye offer the Magmatic Full Service Package, an all inclusive service which, in addition to providing on site assistance and maintenance, can include rental solutions or even finance for the building.
