Plannja, a manufacturer of sheet metal products for the building industry, is developing its cooperation with the business system supplier IBS.
Under the agreement between the two companies, Plannja will upgrade its current system version to IBS Enterprise 6.0 and expand its installation to encompass a larger number of users and new modules. The order is worth approximately SEK 10 million.
Plannja, one of the leading European brands in sheet metal products for the building market, has implemented the strategic shift to demand-driven manufacturing. Its products are sold directly to the building market and to the private market via a nationwide network of retailers. The reason for upgrading the business system is strategic, with the aim of making Plannja's offering, supply chains and delivery processes more uniform, efficient and easily available both to customers and internally at Plannja.
"We have conducted a Group study to see how we can maximize the benefits offered by a Group-wide business system," says Anders Berg, Chief Executive Officer at Plannja. "The key consideration in all of this is that we create a solid platform for Plannja's future and `one Plannja' offering, regardless of where and how the customer works."
The agreement comprises operations in Sweden and Norway, an upgrade of the largest production unit in Lule, the sales company in Norway and a new installation at Plannja Siba in Jrnforsen. Plannja and IBS have cooperated since 1996.
