Agility (the new name for PWC Logistics) has signed an agreement to acquire two logistics companies in Singapore, building its presence in the energy and break bulk sectors in the South East Asia region.
Agilitys new acquisitions - Synergy Shipping Pte Ltd (SSPL) and Synergy Logistics Pte Ltd (SLPL) specialise in the transportation of oilfield tubulars and related exploration and drilling equipments. They also provide a broad range of international freight forwarding services between South East Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the US.
This acquisition has strengthened our capabilities to deliver world class logistics solutions in the energy sector. Synergy has built a good reputation in the South East Asian oil and gas industries and we are delighted that they will be joining the growing Agility family, said Wolfgang Hollermann, Chief Executive Officer, Asia Pacific for Agility.
The deal will strengthen Agilitys project forwarding capability in the region, particularly in the oil and gas sector in which Synergy is well established. The acquisition will also include subsidiary PT Synergy Indonesia (PTSI) based in Batam, Indonesia. The company operates its own tugs, barges as well as a fleet of transportation equipment in Batam with plans to expand further in the marine and projects sectors.
The Synergy companies will benefit from Agilitys global presence in more than 100 countries and its network capabilities, providing its own customers end-to-end services through a single logistics services provider.
