Element RFID Reader developers kit is now available from Escort Memory Systems, one of Datalogic Automations business units, which is part of the Datalogic Group.

The Element RFID Handheld Reader/Writer provides industrial Bluetooth connectivity to laptop, desktop, or PDA devices. Positioned as an add-on device, the Element adds RFID capability to any application at a cost well below a full PDA Handheld RFID reader.

Designed for continuous use in demanding applications, the Element reads and writes to tags and transmitting data up to 100 meters via EMSs own Bluetooth application. Large on-board memory buffers data while the Element is out of range of the host computer or PDA device. The Element automatically reconnects to its host when in range and transmits data collected making a seamlessly simple to use device. The large battery extends the operational time between charges up to several days of heavy operation.

The Element overcomes one of the primary difficulties with Bluetooth devices. The host-to-device connection for most Bluetooth devices is difficult to establish, making those devices unsuitable for factory, institution, tradeshow, or other applications demanding simplicity of use. The Element design incorporates RFID tag technology to form a point-and-click connection to any PDA or host computer.

The Element is part of Escort Memory Systems multi-protocol Cobalt HF family of products.  Engineers and programmers familiar with Cobalt HF readers will find it an easy task to add the mobile Element to their existing fixed base installation of Cobalt HF readers.

All application developers and project engineers will find the Cobalt HF family of RFID reader/writers easy to program, install and debug using the free tools provided to RFID professionals including code samples, Dashboard setup and configuration tool, application notes, tech notes and other useful information on our website.
