Wax Digital has been selected by Bakkavor, the UK's leading fresh prepared foods and produce company, to implement an eProcurement system to support over 400 users at 21 businesses across the UK.

Wax Digital Procurement will make it easier for the company's employees to find and order indirect spend items such as stationery, maintenance equipment and electrical supplies using a web browser.

The dispersed nature of the company's operations, twinned with a large user community, make it essential that the solution can be deployed with minimal staff training and Wax Digital's 'No Training' promise was instrumental in Bakkavor's choice of vendor.

"Wax Digital has an excellent reputation for delivering powerful, easy-to-use purchasing systems into organisations such as ours. We know Associated British Foods quite well and were very impressed with the success they have had in controlling indirect spend and maximising purchasing synergies across a large business structure through their Wax Digital solution," said Anthony Bowdidge, Bakkavor.

"Putting this new system in place benefits the sites by giving them much easier and quicker access to approved supplier catalogues and also provides Bakkavor with a clear understanding of spending patterns, allowing us to drive strategic purchasing initiatives in line with them.

"We're delighted to be working with Bakkavor to help control, measure and ultimately reduce spend across their organisation," said Daniel Ball, Director, Wax Digital.

"This kind of environment, where we have many geographically dispersed users with different levels of IT skills, really plays to our strengths. By delivering a very usable system that meets Bakkavor's needs precisely, we make eProcurement more attractive than traditional purchasing methods and thereby secure user buy-in, drive compliance and generate big savings."
