Witron: 10 years in UK

On 24th July 1996 Witron Engineering B.V. subsidiary of the Bavarian based systems integrator Witron Logistik + Informatik GmbH registered its branch office in UK

Witron UK won its first project Design Study for Universal Office Supplies in Birmingham in June 1997. After the first project things began to move fast; within the next 6 months Witron won another 3 projects in UK. As an international solutions provider Witron covers all aspects of designing and realizing turnkey logistics systems: from data and process analysis, through concept design and simulation, general contracting for the complete project realization, ramp-up and support services after completion.

Now 10 years down the line Witron can look back at 10 successful years with a number of projects for renowned clients such as Pirelli Tyres in Burton-on-Trent, Princes Group in Liverpool, Computacenter in Hatfield, Woolworths in Swindon, Northern Foods throughout UK and Ireland, Sainsburys in Stoke-on-Trent and Hoddesdon and the latest being the creation of the new distribution centre for Boots the Chemists in Nottingham. Also the number of employees has grown and today Witron is close to 45 people spread between the customer sites and the office in Buckinghamshire.

The 10-year anniversary was celebrated on 9th September by employees with spouses and colleagues from the German headquarter and the Dutch office with a mixture of 10 pin bowling in the afternoon followed by formal dinner in the evening onboard the Southern Comfort, a classic replica of a Mississippi paddle steamer, while sailing the Thames.
