Leading supply chain solutions provider, Manhattan Associates, Inc. increased its labour management market share to 38.7 percent, according to a recent ARC Advisory Group report*. This is a 31 percent increase over the prior year and a significantly stronger year over year growth than any other provider in the labour management market. The boost in Labour Management activity was a key contributor to the company's 15 percent growth in overall revenues. The report explains that Manhattan Associates grew their revenues "at a rate considerably faster than the market's growth, which means they gained market share from other suppliers," and goes on to acknowledge that Manhattan Associates solutions "remain among the most functionally rich in the industry."

Manhattan Associates' Labour Management solution optimises the warehouse workforce by improving labour efficiency, reducing turnover through increased employee satisfaction, improving quality and safety issues and increasing customer service levels through order cycle time reduction and improved order fulfilment. The solution was designed to be flexible and accommodate a variety of cultures and engineered standards. It provides reports for all levels - and, when integrated with the company's existing warehouse management solutions, managers and employees can use it to obtain performance expectations, record employee activities, monitor performance levels and view workload across functional areas and zones while measuring actual productivity against expected performance.

"While a few industries have long recognised the ROI potential of managing warehouse labour, a larger and more diverse set of verticals is beginning to employ the solution as a means of increasing profits and competitive advantage," notes Eddie Capel, Manhattan Associates' senior vice president, product management and customer relations. "This has spurred both an increase in demand for our Labour Management solution and the need for such solutions to cater to a broader set of industries with more diverse cultures and workplace environments."
