Infor, one of the largest global providers of enterprise software, have announced the availability of Infor EAM Business Edition, a powerful enterprise asset management (EAM) solution that enables a small to midsize enterprise to control critical functions including work orders, purchasing, inventory and preventative maintenance, without the investment and extended implementation time required for large-scale installations.

Designed for mid-size companies with single or multiple sites, EAM Business Edition increases productivity while reducing downtime by managing several essential business functions within a single web-based solution.

As smaller enterprises deploy increasingly more complex assets, they require an easy to use yet powerful asset management solution specific to their needs, said Jim Handy, president of Infors Strategic Solutions Group. EAM Business Edition provides companies with little or no IT departments a full-featured solution with unparalleled insight into operations and the ability to fully integrate with additional enterprise applications advantages typically reserved for large, multi-national corporations. EAM Business Edition includes features designed for rapid deployment. Customers can be up-and-running in as few as two weeks, including training and configuration, enabling small business owners to focus on what matters most to them: operating their business.

At the heart of the solutions ease of use are inherent key elements including:

  • Key Performance Indicators (KPI): Pre-configured indicators provide a snapshot of how assets are performing;
  • Reporting: A selection of pre-defined reports including assets, materials, purchasing, scheduling, budget analysis and projects can be generated, providing a quick, easy view into operations;
  • Web Architecture: Easy access to critical information located on a central server, which provides a foundation for continuous, consolidated technology implementation;
  • Graphical User Interface (GUI): The EAM Business Edition GUI operates in a standard web browser, fostering rapid user acceptance and reduced training time. Users are able to tailor work order and scheduling screens to meet their specific requirements.

Infor EAM Business Edition provides the perfect migration path for the thousands of Infor MP2 customers because it provides all the necessary functionality required to run the organization, without the complexity associated with large-scale enterprise solutions, said Marty Osborn, Infor senior director of industry marketing. This new solution integrates and effectively manages an enterprises assets, while also providing greater visibility and control of the business.

EAM Business Edition grows along with the customer, extending the life of their IT investment. As needs evolve there are several modules to help meet the increasing demands on the small enterprise including the Asset module to identify, track, locate and analyze physical asset data, maximizing productivity and extending the life of that asset. A Preventative Maintenance module enables the creation of tasks to service multiple assets and schedule preventative maintenance based on a fixed date, flexible time period or metered usage. The Materials and Inventory module offers tools to monitor and control the inventories of storerooms, providing economic order quantity and class calculations and assignments, while the Purchasing module ensures the correct parts are ordered, monitoring delivery times, vendor performance, payments and goods receipts.

Additionally, the solution integrates seamlessly with the Infor family of financial applications to provide a complete view of the business process.
