IDTechEx launches the first European Active RFID Summit

By adding sensors, power, long range communication, and other exciting technologies to RFID and short range communications, there is an opportunity to achieve any number of improvements, such as more accurate tracking of items through the supply chain; healthcare patients can receive the best care at the right time and high value items can be securely located in large area storage facilities. Other sectors that can benefit from the improvements created by combining RFID with other technologies include the food and pharmaceutical industries through verification and temperature control respectively, security, by adding biometrics to enhance traditional security measures and transport, as ports and shipping channels will be safer from harm.
