SYSPRO Delivers Supply Chain Benefits for Fontaine

The need to improve their supply chain, combined with the ability to work in a lean environment, drove fifthwheel manufacturer, Fontaine International Europe, to replace their ageing MRP software with a fully integrated SYSPRO 6.0 ERP system.

Fontaine, with its European base located in Warrington, is the world's second largest producer of fifthwheel coupling devices; equipment that connects a HGV truck to trailers. Over 50% of Fontaine's European customers are OEM truck manufacturers and the company has been under increasing pressure to eliminate all of their manual order processing activities for OEM customers.

Through the implementation of a SYSPRO manufacturing, distribution and financial system and its EDI functionality, Fontaine will have a fully integrated system that can handle the electronic receipt of sales orders, right through to the despatch of goods and invoicing.

Through SYSPRO's Event Management, the system also provides an improvement in workflow communication and response times, automatically triggering actions, or notification of critical events that need attention."

SYSPRO's Event Management module allows SYSPRO to monitor events in the system as they happen and to automatically inform one or more people about the event. These events can trigger an e-mail, run another SYSPRO programme, run another application, or write to a log file for later review.
