The keying-in of overnight parcel shipments in warehouses is set to be a thing of the past thanks to another innovative service from emerging technology company NetDespatch.

In a joint development, NetDespatch has linked its Velocity web shipping and systems integration services with Transparent Communication's Xpedite, a clever software tool that extracts order information from online shopping cart applications.

Traditionally order information from e-commerce web sites has had to be re-keyed into parcel carrier 'implant' systems at the point of despatch, but Netdespatch Xpedite automatically transfers the data from shopping cart software to the NetDespatch web servers.  It then prints the required shipping labels at the point of despatch and electronically transfers the delivery information on to the chosen parcel carrier - such as Amtrak Express Parcels or APC Overnight.

NetDespatch Xpedite has been designed to work with the most commonly used e-commerce software, including Actinic, Sage and JShop. New modules for use with other e-commerce packages are also being developed. The result is a completely integrated order-to-delivery solution that eliminates data entry and paperwork and provides online tracking of all parcel deliveries.

With NetDespatch Xpedite allowing seamless dataflow between shipper and carrier, users gain access to a host of useful features that have been made possible through use of the latest web technology.  A key feature is the ability to print barcoded parcel labels via the web as soon as shipments are booked, on any printer at any location.

NetDespatch Xpedite is available from NetDespatch at 150.00 plus VAT per annum; a small price to pay for seamlessly integrated delivery data transfer; saving time, improving delivery percentages, and raising the bar on customer service.

NetDespatch provides a wide range of e-commerce applications for managing parcel shipments and enables online booking and tracking.  Whether through systems integration, using simple web forms, or even over GPRS using a hand-held device, NetDespatch interconnects shipper and carrier systems to provide a seamless dataflow from order to delivery.  NetDespatch replaces traditional PC implant systems and allows any organisation, irrespective of daily volumes, to cut administration and paperwork through online services.
