Modern software for long-established sparkling wine company

SAP implementation increases Schloss Wachenheims efficiency and lowers the wine producers costs: BASF IT Services installed several SAP solutions - previous IT systems replaced by integrated system.

The vintage wine cellars, Schloss Wachenheim AG, the worlds leading sparkling wine producer with an annual production of more than 200 millions bottles, has adopted the company software mySAP Best Practises for Consumer Products. Within eight months, BASF IT Services installed SAP solutions to handle raw material management, sales and storage, as well as production. Also part solutions were added for finance and controlling. Up to now the company relied on its own internally-developed systems, which due to the corporations expansion into the international wine market were no longer able to provide the capacity needed.

Work processes made easier
The introduction of SAP significantly simplifies the many work processes. This increases efficiency and lowers costs, says chairman of the management board of Schloss Wachenheim, Nick Reh. BASF IT Services replaced the heterogeneous IT landscape previously used in the company by an integrated, continuous system. This has created a harmonious database, accessible to all employees and if necessary, simultaneously.

The SAP solutions are tailor-made to fit the exact needs of the wine company. SAP convinced us through its capacity to expand, its multilingualism and the so-called mandates possibility, which allows several companies to work in one and the same system, explains Schloss Wachenheims commercial manager, Hans Jrgen Klein. We are pleased to have found a provider like BASF IT Services, which brings with it many years of experience on the implementation of SAP in the process industry. Following appropriate training given to the employees, the new software is operating since the beginning of February almost without disturbance.

With our work for Schloss Wachenheim, we once again prove that we are a worthy and adequate implementation partner to SAP, says Wolfgang Erny, speaking on behalf of the Board of BASF IT Services. The vintage wine cellar is BASF IT Services first customer from the Food & Beverage sector. We are not theorists, we come directly out the process industry. Any medium-sized customers and other branches can also profit from our experience, adds Erny.
