Netto Marken-Discount, headquartered in Ponholz near Regensburg, is a daily goods retailer with an aggressive pricing policy who operates around 1100 stores throughout Germany.

In 2004 Netto selected the Aldata G.O.L.D. Supply Chain Management software as the strategic platform for its supply chain processes. Aldata G.O.L.D., a solution built for retailers based on advanced web technology and which is composed of central head-office operations, in-store operations and warehouse management, provides Netto with the comprehensive and integrated functionality necessary for its business processes in the very competitive retail daily goods sector.

Klaus Kaiser, Director of the Aldata Retail Competence Center in Germany, states: "One of Nettos essential requirements was a strategic solution which provided continuity and reliability for the future and one which could be deployed step by step as opposed to a Big Bang approach. Netto wanted a solution which can be implemented quickly and which provides value based on ROI. With this decision to continue the deployment, Netto are confirming their trust in the capability of Aldata G.O.L.D. to support their business.

After the successful implementation of G.O.L.D. for warehouse management including voice operations in 2004 and 2005 (currently there are more than 450 voice terminals in 5 warehouses), Netto has now decided to commence the next phase with G.O.L.D. This will consist of G.O.L.D. being used for central merchandise management, ordering and replenishment. In addition, G.O.L.D. Topase, the replenishment optimization engine for optimized warehouse ordering and stock levels based on demand forecasts, will be implemented. The project is to start immediately with delivery throughout 2006 and 2007.

The phases to implement G.O.L.D. for the remaining business operations with G.O.L.D. will commence thereafter.

Manfred Alt, Managing Director of Aldata Retail Solutions GmbH, is very pleased about this latest success in Germany: "The international success of Aldata G.O.L.D., particularly in the daily goods sector with major retailers such as Carrefour, Casino, Musgrave (Ireland & UK) and Albertsons (US) amongst others, is also continuing in Germany.
