Datalogic announces the availability of the mobile version of its 2D hand held reader: the Lynx BT432 with Bluetooth radio technology.

Bologna, 9th November 2005. Datalogic has extended its range of Lynx 2D hand held readers with the introduction of the mobile version with Bluetooth radio communication, in response to increasing market needs for a cordless 2D reader, and making Datalogics offer of industrial readers one of the most complete on the market.

Like the version with cable the Lynx BT432 is suitable for all 2D code reading applications on the shop floor, in warehouse management, parcel sorting and postal environments, with the advantage of freeing operators from cable entanglement enabling greater movement around the workplace.

This new mobile version features Bluetooth 1.2 radio communication, the latest standard for cordless communication between mobile peripherals. It can quickly download large amounts of data and is therefore, also ideal for reading codes with more than 2,000 characters or to transfer images.

The Lynx Bluetooth version can be configured for automatic batch mode, so that whenever the radio link is lost, the data which is read is then buffered in the internal memory, to be transmitted to the cradle when the reader re-enters the area with radio coverage.

The base/charger is equipped with a multi-standard interface to connect to the host via USB, RS232 or wedge emulation. Additionally the Bluetooth radio module is incorporated in the cradle to communicate with the reader. The Lynx BT432 may also be connected to any Bluetooth device, depending on the customer needs.

Datalogic has equipped the Lynx BT432 reader with long lasting rechargeable Li-ION batteries, for improved performance.

Like the version with cable, the cordless model can omni-directionally read most commonly used 1D and 2D codes as well as a complete set of postal codes. It can also read dotted Datamatrix and QR codes. It still features the five-dot pointer and double-click trigger for intuitive aiming. Up to four image acquisition options are available for complete image management and the images can be downloaded in BMP, TIF and JPG formats. Furthermore, it features advanced CMOS optics for outstanding reading performance even on high resolution or damaged codes. The reader resists drops from 1.8 metres and can operate in temperatures between 0 and 50C. It is available in a model for medium/low resolution codes and one for high resolution 1D and 2D codes.

As always, the new release of Visual Setup, Datalogics configuration software tool specifically for the Lynx family is included in the package.

All in all, the Lynx BT432 2D reader completes Datalogics portfolio by offering the required mobility in industrial applications.
