"EURO ID" Specialist Trade Fair

IBC EUROFORUM GmbH and the Association for Automatic Identification and Mobility (AIM) re-launched the specialist trade fair for Auto-ID technologies in April of this year. Its resounding success justified the "EURO ID 2005" partners' decision to hold the fair: "We wanted to create a platform in which users and manufacturers can exchange information, away from the bustle and commotion of normal trade fairs. We also wanted to offer numerous side events highlighting the latest developments in the industry. And this is exactly what we accomplished," says Peter Altes, Head of Managed Events at the IBC EUROFORUM GmbH. True to the motto "small but select", trade fair exhibitors were pleased with the outcome: "I would rather have 20 really useful contacts than 2,000 quick ones. This smaller group of contacts is really interested in the products and solutions presented and are knowledgeable. And we also have time for real discussions with them," summed up an exhibitor at the "EURO ID 2005". More than 1,200 prospective customers visited the trade fair, in which over 60 companies presented their products, services and solutions.

The 2nd international specialist trade fair "EURO ID 2006", to be held from 16th to 18th May 2006 in the EXPO XXI at the Expocentre Cologne, will continue with the concept of intensive exchange while positioning itself as more international than before. It will be a trade fair "in which international clients receive answers to their questions. In addition, exhibitors as well as trade professionals from other European countries will experience the German-speaking region as an innovative Auto-ID market with strong sales," adds Altes.

For the first time this year, EUROFORUM will be offering the "Auto-ID Award 2006" together with AIM. Winners will take home prizes in the three categories "RFID", "Barcode" and "Innovative Company", to be presented at the get-together for exhibitors on 16th May. "With this award, we would like to offer start-ups, in particular, a big chance to present their products and services to a top-class field of experts and professionals, thereby offering a platform instrumental in the development of new business segments. For this reason, we are also offering young company founders exhibition space at particularly favourable prices," says Altes.

The application deadline for the "Auto-ID Award 2006" is 24th February 2006.
