EXEL WINS DUPONT 'RESPONSIBLE SHIPPER' AWARD

Exel, the global leader in supply chain management, today announced that five of its sites received the DuPont prestigious 'Responsible Shipper' Award. The honor comes as Exel marks its fifth-anniversary as a member of the American Chemistry Council's Responsible Care Program. Exel was the first global supply chain manager accepted into the program.

DuPont, one of the world's leading science-based solutions companies, uses this award to recognize shipment facilities that comply with national and international transportation regulations, DuPont Safe Transportation Policies, and the Responsible Care Distribution code of Management Practices.

This is the tenth year in a row that Exel's Parkersburg, West Virginia, Lockport, New York, and Greenville, South Carolina, locations earned this honor. Collectively during this period, these sites helped move more than seven billion pounds (in weight) of product. Exel's Columbus, Ohio, and Parlin, NJ, facilities also received the award this year, each have been recognized eight and seven years, respectively.

Gary Williams, Exel's President for the Chemical sector, said, "As an industry leader, we recognize the value of Safety Health and Environmental (SH&E) throughout the entire supply chain. Exel's dedicated SH&E team is actively engaged in design of our facilities and the day-to-day operations of our business. Further, we work closely with carriers and suppliers to ensure the safety and security of materials passing through our transportation networks."

Exel aligns its SH&E initiatives with the Responsible Care six codes of management practice: community awareness and emergency response, pollution prevention, process safety, distribution, employee health and safety, and product stewardship. Within Exel's Chemical sector in the United States, there are more than 50 sites actively participating in safety initiatives throughout the supply chain.

Exel's typical in-plant services include warehousing, packaging, blending, rail yard operations, rail car loading and washing, vessel loading and transportation services, among others.
